Bio:

I've always been a writer, but to eat and send children to college, I've also been a university professor and administrator. I've written and published non-fiction articles both in my field of Linguistics and Inter-cultural Communication and in general readership magazines. For five years I wrote, edited, and published a newsletter for U.S. university professors who were managing global classroom issues.
When I began writing for younger readers, I joined the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. That group has mentored me, helping me understand how to write in a whole new way and for a very different audience.
Two of my most recently published stories are online in Stories for Children. Stringbean and Pickles They also published one of my articles titled Worms
My story, The Ghostly Double, appears in Crow Toes Spring08
In January I sold my first young adult novel to Evelyn Fazio at Westside Books.
I love to think that young readers are enjoying articles and stories I’ve written. It’s an opportunity to share experiences and old friends from my past with new ones.
